David H. Armstrong, Jr., 84, of Columbia, died Sunday, September 23, 2012. Born September 14, 1928 in Bladenboro, NC, he was a son of the late David H. Armstrong, Sr. and Carrie Powell Armstrong. A 1951 graduate of Presbyterian College and member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, Mr. Armstrong helped to start Trip Construction in 1961 and was the owner of Armstrong Equipment. Upon his request, his body has been donated to the MUSC Anatomical Program.

A memorial service for Mr. Armstrong will be held at 3 o'clock, Sunday, September 30th at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, 9203 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia with The Rev. Scott Bratton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to SCOA Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210, FLUMC, 9203 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29203, and Epworth Children's Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205.
