Kathryn Anne Francis, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend died Friday, June 14, at 5:40 p.m. at the Kaye Pogue Hospice Center surrounded by family. Kathy was born on July 20, 1951, and was the fourth of eight children to Kenneth and Marcella Holmes.
Her character was defined by life on the farm, where the importance of family and hard work were paramount.
Kathy graduated from Marymount College with a teaching degree in 1973, and she shared her talents with many children at Little Blessings preschool and Lowell Elementary school.
Second only in commitment to family, Kathy loved serving loyal customers as a successful small business owner in Salina for more than 28 years. The legacy of Shirts by Francis will be continued by her son Josh Chamoff. Kathy's adventurous spirit took her all over the world, but most important to her, was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by mother, Marcella Lucille Holmes.
Survived by husband, Sean Francis, of 28 years; father, Kenneth Dean Holmes, of Tipton; son, Scott Chamoff (Vicki), of Safety Harbor, Fla.; son, Josh Chamoff (Heather), of Salina; daughter, Molly Coke (Gordon), of Lincoln, Neb.; stepson, Von Francis, of St. Louis; stepson, John Francis (Jaimie), of Kansas City; stepson, Shawn Francis, of Salina; and grandchildren, Stella, Wyatt, Tanner, Charlotte, Jonathan, Lucille, Violet, Alex, Hannah and Landon.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Salina.
