Mr. Horting was born in Newport and was the son of the late Raymond and Verna C. (Wieland) Horting, Sr. He was retired from ABF Trucking, where he worked on the dock. He was a member of the Charlton United Methodist Church.
Mr. Horting was predeceased by his Brothers, Harry, Kenneth, Harold and Raymond Horting and his sisters, Arlene Kyle, Florence Bitting, Mary Wright, Stella Thomas, Nellie Clouser and Verna Moll.
Mr. Horting is survived by his 2 Daughters, Cindy A. Talley and her Fiance, Mike Maurer of Harrisburg and Cheryl A. Watts and her husband, Dave of New Bloomfield; four Granddaughters, Melissa, Amy, Amanda and Brianna; six Great-Grandchildren; three Sisters, Edith Roush of New Bloomfield, Carrie Swalm of Newport and Virginia Little of Harrisburg; one Brother, Clair Horting of Newport.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 11 A.M., at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. The Rev. C. Ronald Parks, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10-11 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
