(Many friends here have learned with sorrow of the death in Nashville, Tenn. June 29, of Rev. R. Lin. Cave, father of Prof. R. L. Cave, of this city.
The Rev. R. Lin. Cave was a former president of Transylvania College, in Lexington and one of the best known ministers of the Christian church. He was a native of Virginia, and served loyally for four years as a Confederate soldier under Stonewall Jackson and Gen. Lee. He was 79 years old.
Prof. Cave left Monday morning to attend the funeral services at Nashville.
