Tina, of Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton, formerly of Coplay, passed away at the age of 91, St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown Campus.

She was one of 13 children, the daughter of the late Angelo and Beatrice (Marmotti) Bertoni.

She was the wife of the late John M. Marth.

As a young girl, she would often pick coal by the old train cars so the stove in the kitchen would stay warm. Before school, she would go from her home to the cement mill to deliver sandwiches to her brothers and then walk to the old Whitehall school.

At 13, she left school to work in a factory from which she retired after 45 years as forelady to take care of her husband for four years until his death in 1978.

At 15, she made her way up an icy bank to deliver a neighbors baby. The last to leave her family home to start a family, she had her only child at age 39.

She was a Brownies leader and though she knew little of coaching, she coached her daughters softball team culminating in a 12-1 record in its second season.

She helped raise her grandchildren, Karl Eric Unger and Sarah Marie Unger, babysitting every Friday night. She spoiled them as only a grandmother can do. Thanks to her grandmother, Sarah was endowed with a love of cooking and is now a chef. Karl cooks at home and on camping trips, there is no doubt the cooking gene is in him, too.

Daughter, Susan, wife of Michael R. Sacks of Coplay; grandson, Karl and fiancee Amy of Coplay;
