Elmo D. Chesnut, 82, of West Riggin Road, died Tuesday in Ball Memorial Hospital. Mr. Chesnut was a native of Lyons and moved to Muncie in 1950. He worked at Marhoefer Packing Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1968. He attended Northview Wesleyan Church and was a member of Peoples Sympathy Club.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lena; three sons, Charles and Wilburt Chesnut of Muncie, and Don Chesnut of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Mildred Chesnut of Washington, Ind.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel, with Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Family will receive callers 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
