Funeral service for Elaine Roseanna Callahan, 68, will be held at 2 pm Saturday at the United Church of Christ, with Rev Claude Wood officiating. Interment will be in the Oakhill Cemetery near Brayton. Mrs Callahan died Wednesday morning at Heritage House. The daughter of Lester H and Evalyn Hoegh Nelson, she was born at Brayton April 28, 1924, and attended school in the Brayton area and graduated from Exira High School in 1941. She worked at various jobs in the area before moving to California where she lived for more than 20 years. She later returned to Atlantic and worked at Heritage House as a receptionist for 14 years. Mrs Callahan had been active in the Mission at Brayton for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn Marks of Atlantic; a grandson, Rich Marks of Atlantic; a brother, Leland (Beverly) Nelson of Atlantic; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be held at the Mullen Funeral Home of Atlantic following noon Friday.
