Elizabeth Marie Hillis, 73, of Portageville died August 14, 2001 in the Portageville Nursing Center.
Born April 5, 1928, in Portageville, she was the daughter of the late Francis Myers Beis and Albert Beis.
She was united in marriage April 19, 1952 in Portageville, to Reuben Hillis who survives of the home. Also preceding her in death was her brother, Russell Beis.
Survivors include husband, Reuben Hillis of Portageville; two sons, Ervin Hills of Chula Vista, Cal., Gary Peters of Medford, Ore.; two daughters, Mary Katherine Pollett of Oxford, Ga. and Anna Marie Henderson of Lockport, Ill.; one sister, Alberta Armstrong of South Haven, Miss.; seven grandchildren, April Pollett, Eva Marie, Stephen Ray and Maxx Henderson, Hayden Peters, Rachel Peters Bleck; and one great grandchild, Tobias Bleck.
Services were held 10 a.m. Friday, August 17 at St. Eustachius Catholic Church with Rev. Henry C. Grodecki officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Beis, Charles Beis, III, Jimmy Beis, Perry Pikey, Mike French and Charles Pollett.
