Mary Rae Acher, 77, Lawrence, Kansas, passed away Tuesday August 14, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Tonganoxie Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
Mary was born June 4, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Ray and Florence (Morris) Tatman. Mary worked as plant photographer for Hercules Army Ammunition Plant and later as the Office Manager for the Foreign Student Department at Kansas University. She was a member of the Tonganoxie Christian Church. On February 20, 1979 she was united in marriage to Donald Acher, he survives of the home.
Other survivors include; two sons, Steven Curtis, Lawrence, Kansas, Scott Acher, Fayetteville, Arkansas; two daughters, Deborah Fritts, Ottawa, Kansas, Nancy Curtis-Ramirez, San Antonio, Texas; one sister, JoAnn Smith, Lincoln, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Genesis Christian Academy c/o Tonganoxie Christian Church 204 Washington Street, Tonganoxie, Kansas 66086.
