Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Paul Anthony Hughey, age 74, who died Thursday at Hilltop Heath Care Center in Watkins, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.


Paul was born in Franklin, Indiana to Marshall and Olive (Scriven) Hughey. He married Jimmie Lee Flume on June 19, 1965 in San Juan Capistrano, San Antonio, Texas. He served in the National Guard and Air Force as a P.T. Instructor. Paul was a writer and photographer who had many articles published in outdoor magazines. He was a member of St. Martin Parish where he participated in the parish choir, served as a CCD Teacher, wrote the parish bulletin and a book about the St. Martin Parish history. He was also a member of the St. Martin Community Band. Paul enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie; daughter, Molly (Tony) Mitzel; grandson, Jacob; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hughey and Mary Lou Hughey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Philip and Jonathan.
