Gladys, the only child of Franklin Henry and Agnes Duncan (Galloway) Sauer, married in Millburn, Essex County, New Jersey, on June 19, 1948. She and her husband had four children--three sons and a daughter. She was a professional genealogical researcher and instructor. An officer and likely a founding member, she was very active in the Whittier Area Genealogical Society (WAGS) in the Los Angeles area.
