Ella is Buried with her only child Anna and Anna's husband
Walter. Ella's husband is buried with his first wife
Ella was raised with her family a the base of Lookout Mountain. Many times she would say that from the top you could see three states. Boy she loved being raised there, back then life was very laid back. Not to say life was easy because it wasn't, but the extended family would all pull together and were all very close.
When Ella was sixteen she worked in a umbrella factory, as an inspector to add to the income of the family.
I will tell this story that was told to me by my Mother Anna, Ella's only child.
My Grandmother Ella, was coming home one night when she heard moaning. She went to look between the buildings where the sound coming form and found a man laying on the ground very sick and close to death.
She got him on his feet and took him to her home. Tootsie cleaned him up the best she could, made some strong broth and feed him as much as he could take, than put him in her bed.
Mom ,said her mother made a pallet next to the bed on the floor where she slept and kept close to him for a week. Nursing him everyday until he recovered.
After Mr. Jackson got well, Ella got him a job. They stayed friends until his death many years later. My Mother said that he remained loyal to Ella and would do anything he could to help her and my Mother as well.
Blessings to all that visit my Grandmother and thank you in advance for your kindness.
