Mrs. Abernathy
Funeral services for Mrs. Steve Abernathy, 22, of 2418 McRaven Rd. will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from Wright and Ferguson Chapel, with Rev. J. N. Gipson, her pastor officiating. She died late Wednesday afternoon at University Hospital after an extended illness.
The former Betty Ann Griffin, she was a native of Lena, but made her home in Jackson for most of her life. She was a member of Parkhill Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband William Steve Abernathy and one son, Patrick Allen Abernathy, both of Jackson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Alton Griffin of Clinton; three brothers, James Griffin of Dallas, Texas, Johnny and Donnie Griffin both of Clinton and three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Desolette of Franklin, La., Mrs. Frances Dennis of Walnut Grove and Miss Mary Nell Griffin of Flora.
Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Park.

Note: Betty had a mole on her back that turned into cancer and went to her brain.
Note: Brother listed as Johnny is John Duey Griffin and
brother listed and Donnie in Donald Edward Griffin.
