Following an extended illness borne throughout with Christian patience and fortitude, Mrs. Lenora Catherine Miles Ebey passed away yesterday afternoon at 12:35 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W.M. Dukes, No. 503 North Pine street. The end came peacefully as a quiet, gentle sleep.
Mrs. Ebey was born in Fort Adams, Miss. September 5th, 1849; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin C. Miles and Mrs. Johanna Benthal Miles.
Mrs. Ebey is survived by one daughter, Mrs. W.M. Dukes of this city, one son, I.P. Price of Shreveport, La., eleven grandchildren, three of whom are well known in Natchez, Mrs. Walter L. Protheroe, Jr., and Mrs. J.S. McCutcheon of Natchez, Miss., and James P. Berger of Gulfport, Miss. and by eleven great grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held at the residence this morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. M.E. Douglass will officiate and the following gentlemen will serve as pall bearers: Dr. L.S. Gaudet, John F. Montgomery, Jake Stutzman, Tow Brown, Jr., Vincent Guido and David Deterly. The interment will be made in the family plot, City Cemetery.
