Williams College, AB; attended Harvard Law; University of Pittsburgh Law, received law degree; admitted to the Bar, 1930; practiced trust and estates law with Smith, Buchanan, Scott & Gordon in Pittsburgh until 1935, when he opened his own firm, Rhea, Grubbs & Hay. Later practiced with: Goehring, Collin, Stewart & Rhea; Hirsch, Truxall & Weise; and Buchanan, Ingersoll, Rodewald, Kyle & Buerger. Served as justice of the peace for the Borough of Edgewood, 1932-6, 1940-2; served in the Air Corps during World War II. Son of Thomas S. Grubbs and Caroline Gasaway. Husband of Louise Hall Keeble.
