The funeral of John J. Diegnan, 62, local resident, who died in Post Graduate Hospital, New York City on Tuesday, will be conducted today. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Church at 10 o'clock, where a mass of requiem will be celebrated by the Rev. Matthew Deahy and the Rev. John J. McCallen. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the direction of the Allen Funeral Home. Born February 11, 1879, Mr. Diegnan had lived all his life in the same home in Mabbettsville. For a number of years he operated a dairy farm for himself on the farm of Walter White, the farm being sold 12 years ago. Since that time, Mr. Diegnan had been employed as caretaker by Mrs. Moorehead. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Susan Sackett, with whom he resided, and Mrs. Joseph Murphy, Jamaica, L. I.; and two brothers, James M., this village, and Thomas, Cleveland, O. For a number of years Mr. Diegnan was a member of the Millbrook Council Knights of Columbus, and of the Poughkeepsie Lodge of Elks.
