A SON OF GEO. W. & EDITH S. CLAYTON BORN WITHIN LINDEN TOWNSHIP, IOWA COUNTY, WI.

MINERAL POINT TRIBUNE, MINERAL POINT, WI; THURSDAY, 12 MAY 1938 (PG.1/COL. 4): Death Calls Prominent Citizen - To be engaged in performing the tasks of the days work and in the short space of a week called to enter the eternal slumber, has been experienced by one of our most prominent citizens. On Tuesday morning of last week, Milo S. Clayton was at his post at the office of the Mineral Point Lumber Co. when he was overcome by a sickness that the best medical care and skill could not conquer. His passing took place at a Milwaukee hospital early Tuesday morning, the 10th , at the age of 41 years. Deceased was one of our leasing young business men; one whose reliability was unquestioned and his accommodating ways and straightforward manner gained the confidence and esteem of the general public. He was a member of the American artillery forces dudring the world war and has been very active in organizing and promoting the interest of Homer and Lee Parkinson Post of the American Legion. For many years he was a member of the local Masonic bodies. Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, son Wearne, daughters Betty and Patricia, brother Edward of Buffalo, N.Y., and sister, Mrs. Bertha Cain [Kane?] of Milwaukee. Funeral Services will be held Friday afternoon at 2o'clock in the Congregational church and the remains will be laid to rest in Graceland cemetery. - In order that all may have an opportunity to show their respects to our deceased citizen, it is respectfully requested that all places of business be closed from 2 to 3 o'clock on Friday afternoon during the funeral hour. L.S. Graves, Mayor.
