DALTON, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - David Andrew Butler, ( 83y ) d: November 18, 2005 - of 22 Porter Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on July 26, 1923, the son of Patrick and Mary Magority Butler, he attended schools in Hinsdale and Pittsfield and was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European theater from 1943 to 1945. Mr. Butler was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Works for more than 40 years. He retired as a supervisor in 1988. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Hinsdale, where he was an usher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling the back roads of New England. His first wife, the former Marjorie Collins, died in 1965. He and his wife, the former Harriet S. Snyder, were married Nov. 26, 1970, in St. Patrick's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Kathleen Baczynski of Weatherford, Texas. Mr. Butler is lovingly survived by his two grandchildren, Peter and Katie Baczynski; by his son-in-law, Edmund Baczynski, and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Butler Eastland. END:
