Funeral services for William "Bill" Taylor will be held on Friday, July 1, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Bel Aire Baptist Church in Hobbs. Pastor Jim Price and Rev. Shawn Drake will officiate.

Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born on November 20, 1925, in Comanche, Oklahoma, and passed away on June 28, 2005, at Lea Regional Medical Center at the age of 79.

Mr. Taylor served his country in the 7th Cavalry at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a carpet layer for over 37 years.

Mr. Taylor was married to Zulla Baugh on March 10, 1970.

She survives him of the home. Also surviving are his sons, Terry and Tim Taylor of Hobbs; a daughter, Bonnie Lee of Apache, Oklahoma; six brothers, Cecil J. Taylor of Hobbs, Ted Taylor of St. Joseph, Missouri, JR Taylor of Durant, Oklahoma, Richard Taylor of Hobbs, Leroy Taylor of Farmington, New Mexico, and Cecil R. Taylor of Dennison, Texas; and three sisters, Opal Dudley and Ellen Kopysinski, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Elnor Bates of Hobbs.

Also surviving are stepchildren Don Baugh of Warden, Illinois, Dennis A. Baugh and Hershel Baugh, both of Hobbs, and Norma Riley of Hobbs, as well as nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Taylor; a daughter, Sharon Taylor; his parents, Presley and Annie Taylor; three brothers, AW Taylor, Elzie Taylor and Don Taylor; and a sister, Wanda Bass. Visitation will be from 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Duncan-May Funeral Home to whom services have been entrusted.
