Hazel J. Sweigart, 89, of Clearfield, died Monday, October 20, 2003 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born December 5, 1913 in Graham Township, she was the daughter of Orvis J. and Ella M. (Turner) Hubler.
She had been employed by McGregor Sportswear for over 20 years as a seamstress. She also was a homemaker who was talented in quilting, crocheting and knitting.
She was a member of the Clearfield First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Lester H. Sweigart whom she married October 9, 1973 in Towson, MD, two children Nancy Sloppy and her husband Merv of Clearfield and a son Greg Holt and his wife Jean of Pittston, PA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren and two sisters Olive Lanich of Tucson, AZ and Esther Manselle of Cleveland, OH.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her first husband James Holt, four brothers Leland, Burton and Mike Hubler and Kenneth Turner, a sister Monabelle Bumbarger and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Pastor Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services. The family suggests that contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 119 E. Market Street, Clearfield, PA 16830.
