Graveside rites for Bert H. Smith, 83, of Little Rock, were held Wednesday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at the Arlington cemetery with Rev. Jack Bennett, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Interment was under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Homer.

Mr. Smith died Monday morning, March 21, at his home in Little Rock. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning from the Griffin-Leggett Funeral Homer Chapel in Little Rock, and the remains were then brought to the First National Funeral Home here.

He was a retired railroad employee and had resided in Homer for a few years at one time. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Stella M. Smith, of Little Rock, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. William Thomas, Jr., of Homer; one son, Harold V. Smith of Kansas City. Also surviving are three grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were: Aylmer Gladney, Moreland Meadors, Dolph Baker, Jess Robertson, Billy Thomas, John Thomas, Floyd McFarland and Ted Wadsworth.
