Gloria L. Bauhof, 87, East Brunswick, N.J., formerly of Hollidaysburg, died Thursday at St. Peter's Hospital, New Brunswick, N.J., after an extended illness.

She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Mathias and Bessie Mae (Stewart) Frank. She married the love of her life, Harold James Bauhof, on Sept. 19, 1964, at Hope Lutheran Church, Hollywood, Calif., and he died Feb. 8, 1999.

Surviving are three siblings: Geraldine Albrecht of Winter Park, Fla., Gene Stewart (Sylvia) of Arlington, Va., and Gary Stewart (Diane) of Williamsburg, Va. She will be especially missed by the following nieces and nephews who shared a very close relationship with her: Dixie L. Stroup (Ken) and George L. Sidney Jr. (Leanne), all of Altoona, Karen Sidney-Plummer (Mark) of Stowe, Vt., Debra Mandaglio (Bob) of Hagerstown, Md., David S. Frank (Melinda) of Murrysville, Dale Frank of Pittsburgh and Cheryl Burch (Tim) of Orlando, Fla., and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who loved her dearly and held her in the greatest esteem. She is also survived by many close friends and neighbors who were a very important part of her life in New Jersey and whose love, concern, care and total support was very much appreciated.

She was preceded in death by a sister, M. Lorraine Sidney; two brothers: Daniel Stewart and David S. Frank; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Frank.

Gloria was a 1944 graduate of Altoona High School and a graduate of the School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary for the Community Chest in Altoona, in the accounting department of Los Angeles Airport, for Air Research in California (which made parts for airplanes) and Frito Lay Inc., California. She was employed for a total of 11 years in California, before returning to New Jersey.

Gloria was an avid reader with a wide variety of interests. She enjoyed doing puzzles and making many types of crafts. She especially enjoyed traveling all over the United States and around the world with her husband, family and friends. Together they experienced and cherished many memorable adventures. Gloria loved spending time with her family and many friends. She will be remembered for her generosity, her caring, loving ways and especially for the way she appreciated those around her.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2013, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste, where a 9 a.m. funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2013, Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
