Matilda Fachting Dies At 91 At Home Of Daughter
Mrs. Matilda McMonigal Fachting, 91, died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Anna Aidt, where she resided for the past nine years. Death was the result of complications after being bedfast five weeks.
Mrs. Fachting was born January 30, 1854 in Marion county to Daniel and Elizabeth Decker Cutchall. Levi Fachting, her husband, died ten years ago. She is survived by three sons, G.E. Murphy of Kansas City, Mo., William McMonigal of Alabama and George McMonigal of Ft. Wayne, Ind., in addition to the daughter at whose home she died. One sister, Mrs. Lydia Lamphier, lives in Fremont. Eight sisters and one brother preceded her in death. There are 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Fachting, who moved here nine years ago, formerly resided in Ottawa. She attended Salvation Army services.
Brief services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at Henderson and Lutz Funeral home to be followed at 2:30 by services in Ottawa. Captain Clifford Schofield of the Salvation Army will officiate and burial will be made in Ottawa. Friends may call Friday evening at the Funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock.
