Barbara Ann Knighten Hicks Irvin, 75, passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, surrounded by her family. She entered the pearly gates of heaven to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander's Midway Funeral Home, Springtown. Reception: 3 p.m. at Alexander's immediately following burial in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Alexander's. Barbara was born May 5, 1938, in Fort Worth to Jessie Frank and Della Lou Letson Knighten. She worked as a clerk for the T&P Railroad. Family was her life, she enjoyed fishing and always loved a good bargain. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Belinda Ann Hicks; brothers, Douglas and Jessie; and sister, Shirley. Survivors: Spouse, Charles Irvin; son, Bobby Hicks and his children, Hunter and Fisher; stepdaughter Joanie Hatten and her children, Tyler and Chris; granddaughter, Ashley Hicks and her children, Aiva, Triniti and Brazos; sisters, JoAnn Nicholson and Billy Conner; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
