Phyllis Anne Batchelor Watson Hickey, 84, Coldwater, MI, formerly of Camden, died Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Branch County Community Health Center. Mrs. Hickey was born in Aurora, Indiana on December 3, 1928 to Clayton W. and Minnie B. Goodrich Batchelor. She received her training as a registered nurse at the Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and psychology from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. Phyllis worked as a registered nurse for several years and then as a 5th grade elementary school teacher. She was a member of the American Legion Arthur S. Moran Post No. 66 Women's Auxiliary, Pi Gamma Mu, Chi Epsilon Phi, the New York Teachers Association, the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT), and the United Methodist Churches in Camden, NY and Coldwater, MI. Mrs. Hickey lived in many parts of the United States and visited all states except Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband (Stanley E. Watson), her dear husband, James B. Hickey, and her stepson Gene D. Hickey. She moved to Coldwater after Mr. Hickey's death in 2008 to be near her daughter, Nancy A. Mahle who survives her. Phyllis is also survived by a sister, Martha Taylor, Lenoir, NC; daughters, Martha J. Watson, Coldwater, MI; Kimberly Roser, Bridgeport, NY; Susan Voelkers, Yorktown, VA; stepdaughters Elaine (Bob) Morey, Pomona Park, FL; Karen (Art) Ross, Crescent City, FL; Debi (Ray) Pelow, Cicero, NY; Janet (Rick) Yuill, Franklin, TN; Lorie (Todd) Fischer, Union Springs, NY; stepson, David (Kerri) Hickey, Council Bluffs, IA; and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 4th, 3:00 pm at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Burial was 17 May 2013.
