Louis Gerald Abbas was born March 26, 1942, to William and Dorothy Brown Abbas in Webster City, Iowa. He attended school at Webster City at Webster City and served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1961. On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Geraldean (Jeri) Yoder at the United Methodist Church in Woolstock, Iowa. While living in Woolstock, he worked at Arrow Acme Corporation for 39 years as production and quality assurance supervisor. He was mayor of Woolstock and served on the City Council. He was a member off Grace Evangelical Free Church of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and served as an elder, a Sunday School teacher, was active in Awana, active in the youth department, and leader in Home Bible studies.

Louis G. Abbas died Thursday, January 25, 2001, at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife, Jeri, Woolstock; two sons, Jeffery and wife, Sandra, Adel, Iowa, and David, Ames, Iowa; one daughter, Julie Miller, and husband Chadd, Emmetsburg, Iowa; five grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Abbas, Webster City, four sisters, Bonnie, Santiago, Chile, Evelyn Schrier, and husband, Steve, Ida Grove, Iowa, Sharon Abbas, Webster City, and Marilyn Segerstrom, and husband, Bryan, Waterloo, Iowa; two brothers, Bill, and wife Carol, South Plainfield, N.J., and Larry and wife, Dori, Duncombe, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father, and an infant brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 27, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend John Nett officiating. Burial was held in the French Church Cemetery at Woolstock. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of arrangements.
