SOUTHMONT — AMES, Sally Z., 92, Southmont, died May 30, 2010, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born Sept. 5, 1917, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Frederick and Nora (Mishler) Zimmer. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph E. Ames, in 2006; infant brother, Frederick Zimmer Jr.; and sister, Jane Trexel.
Sally retired from Johnstown Suburban Gas Co. and was a longtime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., West Hills, 921 Menoher Blvd., where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Robert Abarno officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 337 Elknud Lane, Johnstown, Pa. 15905 in Sally's memory.
