Was Born And Reared Here In Fayetteville; Died At Tellico Plains --

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday for David Mitchell Bright, who died at Tellico Plains, Tennessee on Monday, April 1. He had been a semi-invalid for the past several years during which time he resided in Tellico, with an older brother, S. A. Bright. David Bright was the youngest son of the late Gen. John M. Bright and Zurilda Buckner Bright, and was born and reared in Fayetteville, where he also received his early education. For a number of years of his early manhood, he was connected with the wholesale house of Buckner and Company in Nashville, and later, moved to New York where, at different times, he was associated with some of the largest financial corporations in that city. He was a great lover of music and his melodious voice brought such pleasure and joy to his many friends.

He had a billiant mind and his literary talent was expessed in several published articles as well as in verse. One of his poems "The Old Church on the Hill" was inspired by his own and his family's love for the First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, the church in which his funeral service was conducted Wednesday by the pastor, the Rev. W. Taylor Clarke, in the presence of relatives and old friends. The burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by two brothers, Matt M. Bright, of Fayetteville, and Sam A. Bright, of Tellico Plains.
