Mr. Laycock was born in Libertyville,August 6th,1910, and had been a Mundelein resident for many years. He served on the Mundelien Police Department for 24 years, 8 of those years as Chief of Police. He was a retired Mundelien Fireman, where he served 25 years, and was a member of the Mundelien Policemen's Association, and the Illinois Policemen's Association.
Survivers include his wife Yolanda (nee Rogers ) ; 3 sons, James Allen (Jane) Laycock of Tucson,Arizona, Larry (Jewel)Laycock of Mundelein and John (Mary) Laycock of Round Lake Beach; 2 daughters, Carole (Donald) Leikam of Tampa, Florida, and Elaine (Wayne ) Witt of Rockford; 16 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Albert Henning; many nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by 1 son,Robert Dallas Laycock; his parents,James and Edith; and 1 brother, Marvin.
Funeral services were at 1 PM Sunday, July 1st,1984, at the Kristan Funeral Home, 219 W. Maple (rte 176 ), Mundelein, with Rev. Kenneth Press officiating. Private interment was in the Diamond Lake Cemetary.
