EDNA I. HINMAN, Earlham
Edna I. Hinman, 94, of Earlham, IA formerly of Normal, IL died Tuesday (June 22, 2010) at home with family present.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at McLaren's Funeral Home in West Des Moines, IA. Burial will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Iowa Health Home Care 11333 Aurora Ave. Urbandale, IA 50322.
Edna I. Hinman was born January 18, 1916, at Sheffield, IA, the daughter of Harley and Iva (Tucker) Seward.
She graduated from Mason City High School in 1934.
She worked for Osco Drug for over 25 years in Mason City and Boone, IA. After retiring and moving to Normal, IL, she spent many years doing volunteer work. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and solving word puzzles.
Edna is survived by her children Sandra Anderson, Normal, IL; Linda (Spud) Laffoon, Earlham, IA and Tom James, Oklahoma City, OK; Bill (Julie) Hinman, Pilot Mound, IA; Lillian (Bill) Kirk, Linden, IA; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son Jack James (U.S. Army, Vietnam) in 1966 and her husband Forrest Hinman in 1989.
