J. C. Carl Fischer was born in Hof, Bavaria the son of Johann Andreas E. Fischer (1701 - 1775) and Maria Margaretha nee Lippert (b. 1710 to Johann Christoph Lippert). He and his father were both shoemakers by profession. He married Emilia Friedrich on 4 Jun 1778.
