Born December 14, 1937 in Brocton, MA Wayne was the first born and only son of Albion Perry Nunes and Irene Hilda Guimond.

He loved the water and was an avid swimmer at an early age. In 1948 the family moved to AZ. Wayne was so homesick, he ran away and hitchhiked back to MA. He was only 12 years old at the time. Of course his parents were frantic and very releaved when he arrived in Plymouth alive and not too much worse for wear.

Wayne dreamed of joining the Navy from the time he could talk. Again his gypsy feet took him to the recruiter and he joined the Navy at only 16 years of age. He was a construction worker and trained demolition specialist among other specialties.

After leaving the Navy, Wayne returned to Arizona. The dessert had worked its way into his blood. He loved camping, hunting and gold prospecting. He was stricken with Gold Fever. He even spent a whole summer in Alaska looking for gold in the early 2000s.

Wayne was a jack of many trades. He worked as a truck driver, wrecker driver, diesel mechanic and even had a knife sharpening booth at a local truck stop.

He was a frequent driver at the local dirt track. Racing was another of his passions.

Wayne passed away in Montana while camping by a stream from which he had "found color" (a gold nugget) the day before he died.
