Davenport - Funeral services celebrating the life of Amanda S. Abbott, 25, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military honors provided by the Vietnam Veterans of America Post 299. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for an educational fund to be established for her daughter Destiny.

Ms. Abbott passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at her home.

Amanda Sue Abbott was born May 4, 1988, in Davenport, a daughter of Kevin Eugene and Robbin Lynn (Jackson) Abbott. She graduated from Davenport West High School and Kaplan University with a degree in human services. She served our country in the Navy.

Most recently she had been a manager at Bath and Body Works.

Amanda loved taking her daughter to the park and spending time with her family and friends playing Wii and board games. She also enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, dolphins, going to Sea World in San Diego, watching the LA Lakers and San Francisco 49ers play, as well as reading.

Survivors include her daughter, Destiny Maxwell; mother and stepfather, Robbin and Richard Foster, Davenport; siblings, Brandon (fiancée Amie Luetger) Abbott, Davenport, Vanessa (Tony) Hunter, Gamaliel, Ky., Merenda (Tracy) Goad, Red Bullin, Tenn., Richard L. Foster, Jr. and Alyssa Foster, both of Davenport, and Kelli Abbott, Oquawka, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Larry and Candy Osborn, Davenport; nieces, Addyson and Brooklynn; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Angelica "Jeli" Zielstorf, Cordova, Ill. She was preceded in death by her father and paternal grandparents, Robert and Bettie Johansen.
