Notes by Sis: Bill married in Jan. 1956 when I was not even in first grade yet. He and Bud, my brother two years younger than he was, got married one week apart. Bill loved to eat sour cherries and I remember him coming home from work in the late spring, running to the cherry trees, and grabbing a handful to eat. Then he'd come into the house and in his merry way greet whoever was there - if it was me, he often picked me up and threw me in the air and caught me, laughing in his unique way. Bill loved cherry pies, oysters at the holidays, bowling, hunting, golfing when he was older, playing his guitar and singing country songs (he was great at it), and he was sometimes a bit of a daredevil. He was a tease now and then. But he was a very sensitive and good person. He did many deeds of mercy in his life. He was an example of a "good and faithful servant."
