Charles served in the army of the C.S.A. in the 25th NC Regiment as a 1st Lieutenant in Company E of Gen. James Longstreet's Corp in General Robert Ransom's Brigade. His brigade fought at the battles of Antietam and at the battle of Fredricksburg near the famous stonewall on Mayres Heights. His health broke shortly there after and instead of accepting discharge from the army he had himself transferred to the 6th NC Cavalry which belonged to the 65th NC troops that served under the command of Gen. Thank you Ron Partin for taking the time to take the photographs. I know that you had to search for this cemetery. I have been told it is not an easy place to find.
I will share the pictures with other relatives and enter them into my records as well. People yet to be born will thank you for the pictures Ron.
Thank you Ron.
