DOYLE Aileen Ann (McGovern) Doyle, 75, of Columbus, Tuesday, September 18, 2001. Aileen was a loving wife and mother, a great friend to many, an educator and a woman of strong faith committed to social justice and charities that assisted the poor and hungry.

Survived by devoted husband of 53 years, William T. Doyle; children, Kevin (Sharon) Doyle and Terri Stec of Delray Beach, Fla., Cecilia Doyle Farney of Columbus and Katie Doyle (David) Haigh of Carroll; grandchildren, Scott and Brian (Angie) Parker, Christa (Kevin) North, Colleen, Billy and Elizabeth Haigh, Kelly and Billy Doyle, Peter and John Stec; great-grandchildren, Ciara and Kennedy North; brothers, Kim (Carol) McGovern of Denver, Kevin (Norma) McGovern and Joe (Aggie) MacKinnon of Columbus; dear friend and sister-in-law, Mary Catherine McGinty; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Philomene and Arthur McGovern, step-mother Helen McGovern, brother Rev. Arthur McGovern, S.J., sister Joan Loomis.

Aileen was a graduate of St. Catharine's Grade School, St. Mary's of the Springs High School and Trinity College in Washington, D.C. She taught English at St. Mary's of the Springs and at Bishop Hartley High School. After retiring from teaching, Aileen worked for J.O.I.N. at the Catholic Diocesan Offices. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, The Phoenix Society of ODC, The Elizabethan Guild and the Daughters of Erin.

Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL, 4019 E. Livingston Ave. Prayer service Friday 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
