1855 - May 27th, Married Juliaette Skinner, daughter of Joseph Skinner and Julia Davis.
1860 - Columbus Census, Solon D. 27, is found under the name "Willcot", farmer, b. PA, Juliette 24, b. PA, daughter Edith, spelled "Edigh" 1.
1870 - Corry Census, Solon 39, Juliaette 34, Edith 11, Will 10, and Clyde 4.
1880 - Columbus Census, Solon 55, Juliette, 44, Eda [Edith] 21, Willie 19, Clyde 13, and Frank 9.
1896 - The Nelson's History of Erie County: "S. D. and Julietta [Skinner] Wilcox, the former a native of Warren County, PA and the latter of Corry, PA. The Wilcox family consists of four children, Edith, now Mrs. F. M. Wheelock, W. J. [William] ... Lynch, Va., Clyde D. and Frank ..."
1896 - From Nelson History of Erie County: "Clyde D. Wilcox ... son of S.D. and Julietta Skinner Wilcox ... known through out Erie county as one of the energetic and successful young business men of that locality. ..."
1900 - May 17, wife Juliaette dies.
1900 - Columbus Census, Solon 69, head of household, widow, farmer; Will 40, Clara, 35, m. 16 years; Mary L. 14; S.Donald 7. Also living on the farm is son Frank, musician 29.

1908 - June 23, --- Corry Journal - "Clyde and Will Wilcox and their father Solon Wilcox, took in the Niagra Falls excursion today."
1910 - Corry Census, he moved to Corry, PA [very short distance from his farm in Columbus] and is living with son Will J. and family, Clara B. 44, Mary L, 24, and S. Donald, 16. Solon is 79 and widowed.

"DEATH OF A PIONEER - Solon D. Wilcox Succumbs To The Infirmities of Age Early Sunday Morning - Solon D. Wilcox passed away at the home of his son William J. Wilcox at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning in his 80th year from the gradual breaking down of old age. Mr. Wilcox was born in the boro of Columbus Nov. 16, 1831 and always resided in the township for most of the time on the farm on the Brokenstraw, a mile east of this city, on which his father [Daniel] setted when all of this section was a wilderness.
Mr. Wilcox was a hard working pioneer and lived to see vast changes in the community where he resided so many years. He was a man of sterling honesty and commanded the respect of his neighbors for his integrity and deligence. He was married on May 27, 1855 to Juliaette Skinner who died eleven years ago.
He leaves three sons. William J., of East Main Street, Major Clyde D., and Frank Wilcox. A daughter Edith, passed away in 1897. Funeral services will be held from the residence on Main Street at 2 o'clock Wednesday and internment will be made in Pine Grove Cemetery."
"THE FUNERAL OF SOLON D. WILCOX was held at the residence of his son Will J. Wilcox on East Main Street on the afternoon at 8:00 o'clock. Rev. Will Rimersburg officiated. Pall bearers were Will, Clyde and Frank Wilcox, sons of the deceased. George Webber, [nephew]Charles Lambing, [Will's son-in-law] Archie Wilcox, [nephew]. The floral tributes were lavish and exceeding beautiful attesting to the high regard in which Mr. Wilcox was held by a large circle of friends. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery Wednesday instead of Tuesday."
