Will married first Clara P. Wright, dau of Philander Wright and Betsy A. Boardman, either the 23rd or 28th of October, 1883. [family bible shows 28th]

1883 - Clara B. Wright 23 Oct 1883 m. to Will J. Wilcox. Warren Ledger 16 Nov 1883, p.5, Col 4.

They had two children: Mary L. b. Oct 17, 1885 and Solon Donald Wilcox, b. Apr 18,1893.

1870 - Erie County Census - Will is living with his parents Solon and Juliaette along with siblings Edith and Clyde.

1880 - Columbus Census - Willie, 19, working on father's farm, with parents Solon and Juliaette, along with his brothers Clyde and Frank, and sister Edith.

1898 - Will was living in Lynch [Blue Jay], Raleigh County, WV where he was the Postmaster and in the lumber business. He returned to Corry and engaged in the grocery business.[Nelsons History of Erie County]

1900 - Columbus Census - Will 40, Clara 35, living on the farm with his father Solon Wilcox 69, widowed, along with their two children, Mary 14, and S. Donald 7. Also living on the farm with them is brother Frank 29.

1910 - Corry Census - Will moved into Corry and is on that census with wife Clara, dau Mary and son S. Donald. father Solon is age 79, widowed, living with them.

1918 - 1st wife Clara dies.

1920 - Corry Census - Will 59, widowed, b. PA, home was rented, he could read and write.

1920 - July 24, He marries 2nd wife, Lillian Dewey.

There are several articles in the Corry paper concerning social and business news, but only one headline being shown.

1926 - March 26 - "Safe Wrecked by Nitro Blast, Overlook $200.00 - Yeggs visit Grocery Store of Will J. Wilcox Early Sunday Morning - Heavy Charge of "Soup" Wrecks Safe. Shattering the safe with a heavy charge of nitroglycerine, yeggs secured about $15.00 in cash ... $300.00 in checks ..."

"HEART ATTACK FATAL TO WELL KNOWN CITIZEN - Siezed with Heart Attack While Preparing to Retire, Collapses and Dies -- Opperated Grocery Store Here For Years.

Seized ... well known grocer and long prominent Corry citizen, died suddenly at his home about 9:00 p'clock Sunday evening. Mr. Wilcox would have been 79 years old, on July 24th.

Death of the highly esteemed resident came as a shock to both his family and countless friends in the community. While he had not been feeling well since Friday and had been troubled with a heart condition for some time ... about his home Sunday and enjoyed an autombile ride during the afternoon and spent the evening with his family. His brother Frank,who resides nearby visited him about 9:00 o'clock and reported him in his usual health and in jovial spirits.

He was stricken ... while preparing to retire. Mrs. Wilcox hastily summoned his brother, who found him prostrate on the floor of the room. A doctor was summoned, but Mr. Wilcox is believed to have died instantly ...

He was born in Columbus Township July 24, 1860 and attended the township and Corry schools ... engaged in business with his brother, the late Clyde D. Wilcox, and also operated a livery here for a time. He later associated with the late H.H. Kepple and P.C. Lynch in the lumber fields of both Blue Jay, PA and Blue Jay, W. V. where he had charge of the company stores, also serving as postmaster. ... returned to Corry about 35 years ago, opened a grocery store ... one of the finest and most modernly equipped in the city ...

... member of Rotary Club ... Corry Lodge, ... Golden Rule Club. ... member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and filled the position of senior warden of that church for a number of years. ... survived by his wife Mrs. Lillian Wilcox, one son, S. Donald Wilcox, one brother Frank A. Wilcox and three grandsons and two grandaughters ... burial in Pine Grove Cemetery."
