Mary Greer - JOHNSON CITY
Mary L. Greer, 59, of Johnson City, passed away on March 7, 2007, at her residence.
A native of Johnson City , she was the daughter of the late George and Juanita Cox Whitaker. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Greer was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was always outgoing and enjoyed family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her parents: George and Juanita Cox Whitaker; husband: Harry Greer Sr.
She is survived by her daughter: Leslie Greer, of Johnson City; step-daughter: Angel Horne, of Lenoir, NC; sons: James Calloway and wife, Melissa, of Johnson City, Harry Greer Jr., of Johnson City; five sisters: Joyce Hensley and husband, Wayne, of Jonesborough, Helen Russell and husband, Fred, of Johnson City, Marie Knapp and husband, Warren, of Johnson City, Connie Taylor, of Johnson City, Sherry Davis, of Nashville, TN; two brothers: Kyle Whitaker and wife, Gladine, of Johnson City, Frank Whitaker and wife, Kathy, of Jonesborough; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday at 8:00 PM in the Sunrise chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Howard Messer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 to go in procession.
