Charles "Merrill" Chipman, age 89, of Cameron, Missouri formerly of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri. He was born April 2, 1924 in Monett, Arkansas to Charles Dewey and Sarah Z. (Mathis) Chipman.

Mr. Chipman was a retired owner/operator of the former Chipman Motors/ RV & Mobile Homes in Mountain Home. He was a Silver Star veteran of the United States Army Air Corp during WWII, serving in Burma, India, Tinian and Saipan. Merrill served as the ER of the local Elks Lodge and was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Masonic and Moose Lodges.

He is survived by two sons: Charles D. Chipman and wife Naomi of Mtn. Home, Larry Chipman and wife Elizabeth of Cameron, MO, two step-sons: Mike Stafford and David Stafford of the Fayetteville area, a step-daughter: Diane Boyd of Mtn. Home; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Opal Jean (Brinsfield), second wife: Mable Lavena (Snodgrass), a step-son: Dwayne Stafford and a sister: Joylee Ables.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home.

A visitation will be Thursday from noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Violet Hill Cemetery at Violet Hill, Arkansas.
