Mrs. Laura A. Muir, 78, died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Fluette, 1101 South Warren avenue. Laura A. Colvin was born July 4, 1857, in Kent county, Mich.. and was married to Milo McConnell in 1872 in Alaska, Mich.
They lived in Alaska and vicinity until Mr. McConnel's death in 1903. when Mrs. McConnell moved to Ohio, where she was married in 1905 to Mr. Muir. They came to Saginaw a short time later. Mr. Muir died in Quincy, Ill., in 1929.
Mrs. Muir was a member of Wealthy Avenue Baptist church, Grand Rapids. She leaves a son and seven daughters, Mrs. Mae Muir, Mrs. R. T. Knowles, Mrs. Herman Holterman of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Philip Jacobs of Grandville, Mich., Mrs. William Smith of Quincy, Ill., Mrs. J. A. Crossman of Clinton, Okla., Mrs. Fluette and Milo McConnell of Saginaw and a brother, George Colvin of Alaska, Mich. The funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday at W. L. Case chapel. Rev. Forst L. Fraser will officiate and burial will be in Forest Lawn.
