War I Veteran Dies Suddenly.
Royse Don Smith, 58, a veteran of World War I, died unexpectedly at 11:40 today at his home, 417 Cross Street. Mr.Smith became ill about 4 a.m. today, suffering what appeared to be a slight stroke. He had been in good health previously and worked as usual yesterday at the Goshen Rubber Company.
Born at Burket, Ind., Jan 26, 1894, Mr. Smith was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Franklin Smith. He had resided in Goshen about 30 years.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lillian Pauline Miller, to whom he was married in 1924; his father, of Goshen; five sons, Glen, who resides in Wisconsin, and John R, Wayne A, Dale M and William H, all of Goshen, one daughter, Mrs. Joan Perrin, of Goshen; three grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Fred Arnold, of Goshen; Jacob L., of Burket; Lloyd Calvin, of Roann, Ind.; Mrs. William Foster, of Lima, O,; and Mrs. Jenrose Keefarber, of Goshen.
The body is at the Culp funeral home. Plans for the funeral have not been completed.
