Judy M. Papievis, 62, 1304 Zollinger Rd., Goshen, Ind., died Friday from an extended illness at Goshen General Hospital where she had been a patient since Sept 29, 2005.
She was born Nov. 23, 1942 to John Royce and Corrine Maxine (Daughtery) Smith in Goshen.
She moved back to Goshen two and a half years ago from Florida where she had lived for 12 years.
She married Kelly Papievis, Aug. 19, 1991. He died Feb. 21, 2001.
She was an enthusiastic outdoors woman, enjoying freshwater fishing and mushroom hunting. She also enjoyed going to flea markets and garage sales.
She is survived by a sister, Tina (Bryce) Kime, Elkhart; and one brother, Thomas (Pamela) Smith, Goshen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter, two sisters, Charlene Sue Smith, Karen Arlene Thomas; and one brother, Dennis John Smith.
Friends and family may visit from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday at Goshen Salvation Army Church.
A memorial service will take place following visitation at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Ron Kennel of Clinton Brick Mennonite Church officiating.
There will be a private family scattering at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
