Henry Wand Febrey was born on November 24, 1828, in Alexandria County, Virginia, the child of Nicholas and Belinda. He had five sons and four daughters with Margaret Amelia Payne between 1851 and 1868. He died on March 5, 1881, in Washington, District of Columbia, at the age of 52, and was buried in Falls Church, Virginia.
