FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—Funeral for Beatrice (Law) Alford, 88, of Fayetteville, Ark., was held July 8, 2005, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Lowell E. Grisham officiating. Burial was at National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Mrs. Alford died July 5, 2005, at Washington Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 11, 1916, in Lore City, Ohio, to Carl Casner and Alys (Shipman) Law. She attended Denison University in Granville and graduated from Capital University in Columbus. Mrs. Alford was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville and the Outlook Book Club. She was a former volunteer at Fayetteville City Hospital, Washington Regional Medical Center and The Salvation Army dinners.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Alys M. "Toddy" McAllister of Harlingen, Texas, and Antoinette R. "Toni" and Harve Bell Thorn III of Fayetteville, Ark; a son, Thomas L. (Laurie) Alford of Phoenix, Ariz; two grandsons; and two brothers, Carl C. (Frances) Law Jr. and Harold L. (Mary Ann) Law, both of Utica.
She was preceded in death by her husband, USAF Lt. Col.(Ret.) Ray W. Alford; and brother, the Rev. Ronald S. Law.
Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
