Mary McKinley, one of the oldest residents of this community, died on Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her son, G. H. McKinley, at Parnell. She had been ill for many weeks with a chronic trouble and the Infirmities of age and her death had been expected almost hourly since last Friday.

Aunt Mary," as Mrs. McKinley came be affectionately called, was born in Clark county, Ohio, in 1824 and was aged 86 years, 2 months and 27 days at the time of death.

As a girl she came to Illinois with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Arbogast and her long life thereafter was spent In this community.

On March 2, 1844, she married Robert McKinley and they located on the farm west of Parnell which was their home until Mr. McKinley's death on March 7, 1883.

Five children were born to them, only two of whom survive their mother John W. of Farmer City and George H. of Parnell. The second son, Willie, died at two years old, the daughter, Miss Laura, passed away fifteen years ago and another son, Charles, was taken Sept. 11, 1903.

After the death of her daughter Aunt Mary moved into Farmer City and for a few years maintained a home in company with her sister, Mrs. Lydia Wood, since deceased. Her later years were passed at the homes of her surviving sons.

She was one of a large family, of whom now are left only two. brothers, D. H.. Arbogast of this vicinity and Enos Arbogast of Saybrook.

Aunt Mary was a member of the M. E. church from early girlhood, her membership being with the Parnell church from the time of her coming to the community, A host of friends gladly testify to her upright life and true Christian character.
