Englbert Hugo Spaeth better known as "E.H." passed away on January 15, 2014. He was born on April 1, 1924 in Lindsay, Texas to Albert Spaeth and Joesphine Block, the sixth of ten children. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy; his parents, Albert and Josephine Spaeth; 4 sisters Ann Belmont, Agatha Garner,Celilia Harty, Christine Small and a brother Raymond Spaeth l.

At the age of 6, his family moved from Lindsay, Texas to Helena, Texas where they lived for a year, then moved to Runge, Texas where he attended elementary and high school until he entered the Navy in 1942 when World War II was declared. He served in the Navy for 3½ years on the U.S.S. Brazos, an oil tanker. He was a machinist mate traveling to many military bases in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska.
