Ruth E. Allen, age 86, who passed away Wednesday at Sun City Hospice in Ruskin, FL. Burial will be at Acacia Cemetery in Clearwater, MN.
Ruth was born March 1, 1927 in St. Cloud to George & Tillie (Hjelm) Colburn. She graduated in 1949 from the St. Cloud Teachers College. Ruth married Robert Allen on March 12, 1950 at First Baptist Church in St. Cloud. She served with her husband Bob in Brazil with New Tribes Mission for twenty years. Ruth was the secretary at First Baptist Church for many years and volunteered in the church library. She lived in St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids before moving to Florida in 2007. Ruth dedicated her life to Bible study and research. She was a prayerful woman who is now rejoicing with her Savior.
Survivors include her 7 children, Mark Allen, David Allen, Beverly (Jeff) Grandy, all of Valrico, FL, Marilyn Brimhall of Riverview, FL, Becky Pederson, Ben Allen, and Dan Allen all of St. Cloud; sister, Irene Colburn of St. Cloud; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on July 23, 1997; and brother, Albert Colburn.
