Don B. Burton, 61, of 822 South Fourth street died at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the University Medical Center, Columbia, where he had been hospitalized 45 days.
Born, Aug. 12, 1909, at Huntsville, he was a son of Charles and Odess Bradley Burton. He had lived his enitre life in this area. An Employe of the Missouri Training Center for Men, he formerly operated the Moberly Fuel and Coal Company and the D. L. Bradley Mine. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Blue Lodge, past master; Order of Eastern Star, Past patron; White Shrine No. 11, past watchman of the shepherds: Royal Arch No. 79, past high priest; Centralia Council No. 34; Commandry of Moberly No. 25, past commander; Coon Creek Shrine Club and Ararat Shrine of Kansas City.
Surviving are his wife, Lula May; one son, Donald, Moberly; one daughter, Miss Donna Burton, Mascoutah, Ill.; his mother, Mrs. Odessa Burton, Moberly; one brother, Dudley H. Burton, Valinda, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Truman Winn, Dussey, Iowa.
The body is at the Cater Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral chapel with Dr. Joseph P. Grant, pastor of the First Baptist Church, in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday.
