Ethel Jane Mathews, 65, 2704 Lehigh Place, Dayton, died suddenly at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton at 3 p.m., Thursday.
She was born July 4, 1914, in Adams County, the daughter of James Leroy and Bertha Ellen White Mathews.
She was a clerk for Gold Circle in Dayton.
She will be missed by one son, Ralph Eugene Mathews of New Vienna; four grandchildren; seven brothers, Marion Mathews of Springfield, Harold Mathews of Greenfield, Venie Mathews of Xenia, Wendell Mathews of Naples, Fla., Donald Mathews of Greenfield, Paul Mathews of Bainbridge and Glenn Mathews of Cincinnati; four sisters, Grace Watters of Sabina, Ruth Bowers of Toledo, Elizabeth Barney, Kettering, and Lorene Mathews of Hillsboro.
Services will be Monday, 1:30 p.m., at Hope Miller Funeral Home. Rev. Dean Montgomery will officiate. Burial will be in HIllsboro Cemetery. Visitaton at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.
